Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Truck Driver to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to safety and efficiency while transporting commercial HVAC equipment, materials, lifts and tools between the shop and various supply houses / job sites in the MA & RI areas. This role requires proficiency in operating different types of trucks, including rack trucks, box trucks, pickup trucks and transit vans. Duties
- Operate commercial vehicles, including rack trucks, box trucks, pickup trucks and cargo vans.
- Safely transport freight to designated locations while adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
- Load and unload cargo as needed, ensuring proper handling of goods.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, job tracking, and deliveries.
- Communicate effectively with project managers and field team members regarding daily schedule & route changes or delays.
- Operate material lifts or other equipment for loading/unloading when necessary.
- Follow designated routes while being flexible to adapt to changing conditions.
Skills
- Proven experience in small to medium delivery truck driving, CDL is not required.
- Proficiency in maintaining a logbook for delivery organization & record.
- Experience with driving different types of vehicles especially in congested areas like Boston, Cambridge & Providence.
- Strong understanding of route driving and delivery driver experience.
- Ability to handle freight safely and efficiently during loading and unloading processes.
- Excellent time management skills to ensure timely deliveries.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with team members and clients.
- Demonstrate initiative and organization.
