Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Dump Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in excavation and a strong understanding of construction site protocols. As a Dump Truck Driver, you will be responsible for transporting materials and equipment using a tag trailer to and from job sites while ensuring the safe and efficient operation of your vehicle. This role requires excellent driving skills, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to work collaboratively with other team members on various construction projects.
Responsibilities
- Operate dump trucks to transport equipment and materials such as gravel, sand, and soil to designated locations.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies while on the road and at construction sites.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure proper functioning and safety.
- Assist in loading and unloading materials as needed, utilizing equipment such as backhoes.
- Collaborate with site supervisors and other workers to coordinate material deliveries effectively.
- Maintain accurate records of loads transported, including weight tickets and delivery logs.
- Perform routine maintenance on the dump truck, reporting any mechanical issues promptly.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving in various conditions.
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL-A) with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience in dump truck operation; experience with heavy equipment transportation is preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting minor vehicle issues.
- Familiarity with construction site operations and safety protocols.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Physical stamina to handle the demands of the job, including lifting heavy materials when necessary.
- Able to read and write English as classroom training is part of the hiring process.
