Job Overview
Join our dynamic team as a Swing Driver, where you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring efficient waste collection and transportation. You will operate various types of trucks, including rear loader trucks and roll-off trucks, while adhering to safety protocols and providing exceptional service to our community. Your driving expertise and mechanical knowledge will be key to navigating routes effectively and handling heavy lifting tasks with ease.
What you’ll do
- Must be able to operate all lines of business RL/FL trucks, roll-off trucks, and other heavy vehicles safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage or injury.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to maintain safety standards.
- Navigate assigned routes while adhering to traffic laws and company policies.
- Communicate effectively with team members and dispatch regarding any issues or delays.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, pickups, and vehicle maintenance logs.
- Assist in training new drivers on safe driving practices and equipment operation.
- Provide excellent customer service during interactions with clients and the public.
Basic qualifications
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Experience operating rear loader trucks, roll-off trucks, or similar heavy vehicles.
- Strong mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor vehicle issues on the road.
Preferred qualifications
- Previous experience as a delivery driver or in commercial driving roles.
- Familiarity with manual transmission vehicles is a plus.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks safely and efficiently.
