Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Warehouse/Driver to join our team. This role involves both warehouse duties and driving responsibilities, ensuring the efficient movement of goods and materials. The ideal candidate will have experience in commercial driving and warehouse operations, with a strong focus on safety and customer service.
Duties
- Operate various types of vehicles, including box trucks, flatbeds, and tractor-trailers, for the transportation of goods.
- Load and unload freight efficiently using forklifts, pallet jacks, or manual handling techniques.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries and pickups, ensuring all documentation is completed accurately.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
- Assist in warehouse operations including inventory management, organizing stock, and maintaining a clean work environment.
- Communicate effectively with team members and customers to coordinate deliveries and address any issues that may arise during transport.
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial driving with a valid driver's license suitable for the vehicle type operated (e.g., CDL for heavy vehicles).
- Familiarity with various driving types including shuttle driving, delivery driving, bus driving, paratransit services, and heavy haul operations.
- Mechanical knowledge to perform basic maintenance on vehicles and troubleshoot minor issues.
- Experience operating heavy equipment such as dump trucks or tankers is a plus.
- Strong communication skills to interact with customers and team members effectively.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while adhering to safety protocols.
- Previous warehouse experience is preferred, along with skills in moving freight efficiently within a warehouse setting.
