Overview
The Supply Chain & Logistics Manager is responsible for end-to-end management of inventory, domestic and international freight, and delivery execution for systems and parts. This role owns planning, carrier selection, shipping methods, and cost control, ensuring on-time delivery while managing working capital and logistics expense. The role operates cross-functionally with sales, operations, finance, and partners.
Key Responsibilities
· Inventory Management & Planning
· Manage inventory levels for systems and spare parts based on sales forecasts, backlog, and lead times
· Align inventory planning with sales forecasts to ensure availability while minimizing excess inventory
· Monitor inventory turns, shortages, and aging inventory
· Coordinate inbound material planning and deliveries
International & Domestic Logistics
· Own all shipping decisions for international and domestic freight
· Select and manage freight forwarders, ocean carriers, air freight providers, and trucking companies
· Determine shipping methods (air vs. ocean vs. ground) based on cost, delivery requirements, and approval policies
· Manage customs documentation, duties, tariffs, and compliance requirements
· Coordinate last-mile delivery and domestic trucking
Cost Control & Vendor Management
· Negotiate rates and contracts with logistics providers and trucking companies
· Ensure freight and tariff costs are properly quoted, tracked, and recovered where applicable
· Monitor logistics spend and identify cost-reduction opportunities
· Track freight invoices and validate charges against quotes and contracts
Execution & Communication
· Ensure on-time shipment and delivery of systems and parts
· Proactively communicate delivery timelines, delays, and risks to internal teams and partners
· Provide clear data and reporting on shipping methods, costs, and performance
· Support monthly close with accurate freight and tariff reporting
Process & Continuous Improvement
· Establish clear logistics and inventory processes appropriate for a growing company
· Improve visibility into inventory, shipments, and delivery status
· Implement practical tools, templates, and controls (without over-engineering)
Qualifications
Experience in supply chain, logistics, or operations (manufacturing, capital equipment, or preferred parts)
Strong understanding of international shipping, freight forwarding, and domestic trucking
Experience managing inventory using forecasts and demand signals
Comfortably operating independently in a small-company environment
Strong attention to detail with a practical, business-oriented mindset
Pay: $90,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
